Kane replacement on the radar? Tottenham eye £34m rated Artem Dovbyk
Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be busy in the upcoming summer transfer window, and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano insists that 21-goal striker target Artem Dovbyk has a £34 million release clause.
The North Londoners have been vying to bring in a marquee striker in the off-season as Daniel Levy & Co. look to hand reinforcements to Ange Postecoglou‘s arsenal as Spurs continue to progress under the Australian gaffer, who has been without a high-profile target man since the departure of Harry Kane last summer. With Richarlison also linked with a possible White Hart Lane exit, a striker should be on the agenda for the officials at Spurs.
Now, the Italian journalist has brought in a transfer update for a player who has been linked with a move to North London. Mundo Deportivo reported earlier this year that the Lilywhites are looking at the 26-year-old alongside the likes of Chelsea and Atletico Madrid.
Girona’s goal machine has a bargain release clause
Dovbyk moved to the Spanish top tier only last summer from Ukrainian outfit SK Dnipro and has been integral to Girona’s bid for a top-four finish this season. The Ukrainian striker has scored twenty goals in La Liga this season. He has been likened to the likes of Erling Haaland and Harry Kane, something that would come to the ears of Spurs supporters.
Fabrizio Romano, taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, acknowledged the release clause in Dovbyk’s contract:
“Understand Girona striker Artem Dovbyk has a release clause in his current contract, and it’s worth €40 million (£34 million). Any club keen on signing Dovbyk has to pay €40 million, as Girona is not intending to negotiate the price. The clause is already valid for this summer.”

The fee would be peanuts for a club with the financial stature of Tottenham, and considering the current market, it should be one of those bargain transfers of the summer for any club that signs his services.
