Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou believes Manchester City loss showcases fragile foundations
A major reason for our 2-0 loss against Manchester City at home has to come down to the environment at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Pep Guardiola’s side with Ange Postecoglou left helpless. The atmosphere in the stadium can make all the difference for the players out on the pitch.
So, when the crowd’s as quiet as a mouse and cheering the opps on instead, you bet it’s going to affect the lads. Fans have their own way of expressing themselves, but cheering on the opposition to spite your rivals? That’s a low blow.
Ange, though, is spot on. He can’t control what the fans do, but he’s not afraid to speak his mind. He knows that when the crowd’s roaring, it gives the team that extra push, that bit of momentum to snatch a late winner. Here is what he told Football London:
“Of course it does. It is what it is. I can’t dictate what people do. They’re allowed to express themselves any way they want. But yeah, when we’ve got late winners in games it’s because the crowd’s helped us.”
While some fans might be more focused on sticking it to Arsenal than supporting their own team, Ange’s got his priorities straight. He’s all about backing the boys in blue and white, no matter what. And you’ve gotta respect that.
At the end of the day, Ange knows that the real fans are the ones who stand by the team through thick and thin. They’re the ones who lift the players up when they’re down, not drag them down with negative vibes.
So, let’s cut the nonsense and get behind the team, yeah? We’ve got a manager who’s got the right attitude, who’s building something special at Spurs. It is surely not a nice sign when he starts calling out the fragile team environment, especially after such a crucial game.

It’s time for the fans to step up and do their part, too. Because when we’re all singing from the same hymn sheet, there’s nothing we can’t achieve. Arsenal are in their own journey and we are in our own. Any Tottenham fan’s love for the club should be greater than their hatred for Arsenal. Period.
