Summer transfer frenzy? Tottenham set for major revamp under Postecoglou

Tottenham Hotspur have made considerable progress since Ange Postecoglou took charge of the club last summer. The club has gone from one of the struggling big teams to one of the most exciting projects in Europe in a short span of time under the Australian gaffer.

The former Celtic coach has managed to unite the fans and ensure that the club is sailing in the same direction from top to bottom as everyone pedals in the same direction. To ensure that the club progresses from the ongoing season, Daniel Levy and the officials in the cubicles at Hotspur Way are already readying an exciting blueprint for the summer transfer window ahead, which is expected to be a busy one at White Hart Lane.

From fragile foundations to firm footing

There are ample changes expected at N17, with multiple arrivals and compounded outgoings, as Spurs ensure they increase the ceiling of the roster at Ange’s disposal. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano spoke about the next steps that Spurs are expecting in North London following Tuesday’s disappointing loss to Manchester City, which denies the Lilywhites any possibility of finishing in the top four.

The Italian acknowledges the strange atmosphere at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against the Cityzens, where the Spurs faithful were cheering against their own team. He also speaks about the moment when the Tottenham boss was arguing with the fans who celebrated City’s goal. Fabrizio insists that, following the atmosphere at White Hart Lane on Tuesday, Ange wants to change the mentality and culture of the club.

In his Daily Briefing, Fabrizio Romano writes:

“It was a difficult moment for Ange Postecoglou as Tottenham lost 2-0 to Manchester City and missed out on Champions League football. It was a strange atmosphere as there were a lot of questions before the game about Spurs and their impact on the title race, with some fans not wanting them to help their rivals Arsenal.”

“Postecoglou could be seen getting into an argument with a fan in the stands, and after the game he did not sound happy as he spoke about fragile foundations at the club. I don’t know for sure what he meant by that, only he knows, but he is not unhappy at Tottenham, he just wants to change the mentality.”

“This summer we will likely see some players leave, some new players to join – there are many things to do in the summer transfer window, Tottenham will be active as for sure Postecoglou wants to change some things.”

Unsurprisingly, he speaks about the importance of the summer window and the underlying significance it will have at N17.

For now, Spurs have to focus on the final game before sitting down and reviewing the blueprint of the summer window, which will be critical in changing the culture of the club and the mentality of the squad.
