Michael Owen talks about Ange Postecoglou comments after Manchester City loss
It’s been a right kick in the teeth for Spurs. Ange Postecoglou and Co. lot have had chance after chance to clinch that fourth spot and get back into the Champions League, but they’ve ended up falling short, mate. Unai Emery’s Aston Villa pipped them to the post in the end.
Now, that City game, it was a big one for a few reasons. Not least because Spurs could’ve thrown a spanner in the works for their London rivals’ title hopes if they’d managed to get one over on Pep Guardiola’s lot.
You could even hear anti-Arsenal chants during an important Spurs game on which our UCL hopes depended. Ange even got into it with one of them near the dugout, though we’re not exactly sure what went down there.
Now, Michael Owen, he’s got his ear to the ground, and he reckons there’s something brewing behind the scenes at Hotspur Way. He reckons there’s a big story about to drop, and he’s not the only one scratching his head over it. Here is what he told PLP:
“He doesn’t look happy, does he?”
“I wonder what that could be. Whether he has had a meeting with the people above. Whether they were starting to look ahead to next season already, which would surprise me if he had.
“That’s a head-scratcher. But there is certainly something that’s affecting and annoying him, at the moment. That will come out in the hours and days to come. Not a happy man.”
Just look at Ange’s body language. He’s like a volcano ready to erupt. And Owen reckons there’s a reason for that. He’s sniffed out something fishy going on behind the scenes, and he’s not afraid to say it.
Of course, we’re all just speculating at this point. But if there’s one thing football fans love, it’s behind the scenes at their favourite club.
