Gibbs-White to North London? Tottenham target creative Forest midfielder
Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign players that defy their current ceiling, and in pursuit of betterment, they have turned to one of the Premier League’s most exciting creative midfielders, Morgan Gibbs-White. The North Londoners have had discussions with his current employers, Nottingham Forest, about a possible move, per Football Insider.
This will come as a knock to James Maddison, who has been inconsistent this season and has failed to replicate the start of life he enjoyed at White Hart Lane. While Morgan Gibbs-White has ample Ange Postecoglou attributes to his game, he is primarily a runner with the ball at his feet and is excellent at driving the ball inward while thinking at his feet.
If Spurs were to sign the former Wolverhampton Wanderers star, he would become the second player to move from City Ground to the N17 in as many seasons, following in the footsteps of his former teammate Brennan Jhonson.
Will Gibbs-White become the latest City Ground star to join Spurs?
Football Insider senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke, speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, revealed that Forest might have to sell one of their marquee players in the summer in order to balance their books, and should they decide to sell the 24-year-old, Tottenham would be looking to bring him to North London.
Nottingham Forest have placed a hefty £60 million price tag on his name, and Tottenham Hotspur are said to be leading the race for his services as of now. Having only arrived for an initial £25 million fee from Molineux Stadium, this would represent a massive financial recoup for Forest.
