Levy plots transfer revolution as Richarlison exit looms at Tottenham
It is about time for the summer transfer window as Daniel Levy & Co. look to finalize a blueprint for the transfer dealings, and one of the surprise yet expected outgoings is Brazilian international Richarlison, who has been linked with a move to recently crowned Saudi Pro League champions Al-Hilal.
Tottenham Hotspur not only have to think about replacing the former Everton man if he departs North London, but also ensure they upgrade on the 27-year-old in the transfer market. Senior journalist Pete O’Rourke, speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, revealed that the North Londoners are looking to sign a senior wide forward and a striker this summer.
Tottenham prioritize striker and winger in summer haul
Pete O’Rourke acknowledges that the club has struggled for a physical presence up front following the departure of Harry Kane and also insists that Brentford striker Ivan Toney is a key target for the Lilywhites.
Richarlison has been highly inconsistent in the number nine role, and Son Heung-min looks at home in the number nine position in some games while struggling in other games. This shows the need at hand to sign a marquee target this summer.
In Richarlison, Spurs enjoyed a versatile profile who can play along the offensive line, while they could easily replace that in Timo Werner, who attains similar versatility. However, Tottenham need a striker who can make the position his own and can give Harry Kane-esque output and presence up front. The likes of Ivan Toney and Santiago Giminez (who have already been linked with a move to N17) bring that.

The Lilywhites also want to add competition to the wide role, as they look to create competition in the squad to signify the need for optimum output every time the players take the field. It is to be seen who Tottenham ends up signing as an important summer beacon for the North Londoners.
