Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a summer move for Santiago Gimenez
Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring in marquee number nine through the doors in the upcoming summer transfer window, and the North Londoners have identified Santiago Gimenez as a priority target.
Per journalist Graeme Bailey, the Lilywhites have recognized the 23-year-old Mexican striker as a priority target, and it will be interesting to identify if a deal can be done to bring him to White Hart Lane as clubs like the Italian duo of Inter Milan and Napoli, complemented by Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid, are looking to persuade him this summer.
Can Spurs’ project convince Gimenez despite Champions League absence?
With Richarlison likely on his way out of the Premier League with Al Hilal, the newly-crowned Saudi Pro League champions, looking to pursue a deal for the Brazilian this summer, it looks highly likely that Tottenham will sign a new striker, and the Mexican ace is being courted as Spurs boss Postecoglou has tasked Daniel Levy and his technical director Johan Lange with bringing the 23-year-old to the N17.
Alongside Richy’s departure, the club is also yet to replace Harry Kane, who moved to Bayern Munich last summer. The North Londoners have missed a physical presence upfront this season, and Santiago Gimenez might be tasked with bringing that to White Hart Lane next season.
His services would cost £42 million, which is reasonable in the current market, and the Feyenoord striker could be a bargain investment if Spurs manage to sign him. It will be interesting to see how Daniel Levy drives this bargain and brings him to N17 this summer.
