Tottenham Hotspur Defender linked with summer exit

Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane in the upcoming summer transfer window as Daniel Levy & Co. look to undergo a major overhaul in the off-season.

Spurs acquired the services of Emerson Royal from Spanish giants Barcelona back in 2021, which at the time was looked at as a highly anticipated deal for £25.8 million. However, the 25-year-old hasn’t been able to replicate his Spanish top-tier form in the English top-tier, leading to the North Londoners eventually considering his probable exit.

The Brazilian international has been linked with a move to Serie A giants AC Milan; however, John Wenham, owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, believes that the former Real Betis player is prepared to swap his life in England for the Middle East.

Wenham acknowledges Milan rumors but signifies the fact that the Italian giants would be able to afford Emerson. He insists that at this point, a move to the Saudi Pro League is more likely than a move to AC Milan.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham said:

Tottenham stars Romero and Johnson laud Emerson Royal via Instagram
Will Emerson Royal embrace the money or seek European glory?

“I think Emerson will be one of the players who leaves this summer, and I could see him moving to Saudi Arabia. AC Milan are interested, but I don’t think they will be able to afford him.

“Some people will question whether Emerson will want to go to Saudi Arabia, but I think he will. There are plenty of Brazilian stars out there, and if an offer comes in, I would let him go.

“If we could sell him for £20 million, that would be phenomenal.”

Emerson’s importance at Spurs has reduced in the recently concluded season, and a move away from the North Londoners is a more likely measure.

However, it is to be seen if he chooses to take up another project in Milan or play in a finished project in Saudi Arabia.
