Tottenham will not have an easy time signing Bundesliga defender amid interest from Liverpool and Manchester United

As reported by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur will be battling with Liverpool and Manchester United for the signature of Bundesliga defender, Odilon Kossounou. Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are also said to be interested.

The 23-year-old has been having an amazing season with Bayer Leverkusen. His team is on its way to winning an invincible treble this season. They currently stand two wins away from etching their names in history.

Odilon has been a key part of Xabi Alonso’s squad. He has made 33 appearances this season and has even scored a goal for Leverkusen. Kossounou is an incredible defender who has a lot of calmness to his game.

Manchester United and Liverpool would immediately be better with a player of Odilon’s caliber in their lineup and so would Ange Postecoglou‘s Tottenham. However, the Reds are willing to pay up to €60m for the 23-year-old defender.

So, the Lilywhites will also have to make a significant investment to be competitive. Odilon also has two years left on his contract with Leverkusen which puts the German side in a strong position.

Moreover, there’s no guarantee that the 23-year-old would be willing to leave Leverkusen after having a historic season with them. The Spurs will surely have a rough time if they decide to go after Kossounou this summer.

It would also be safe to say that almost everyone will have a tough time buying Leverkusen players as long as Xabi Alonso keeps breaking records.
