Tottenham could end up spending £43million on La Liga winger this summer
As reported by Football London, Tottenham Hotspur are expected to go after La Liga winger, Nico Williams this summer. The 21-year-old has made 37 appearances recording eight goals and 17 assists.
Williams played a key role for Athletic Bilbao and even provided an assist in the Copa Del Rey finals that the team won on penalties. Thanks to his excellent playmaking, he will surely be a man in demand this summer.
Amongst those interested in his services are Liverpool and La Liga giants FC Barcelona. However, the departure of Xavi Hernandez from the Catalan club could change their priorities for the summer.
At the age of 21 Williams has already solidified himself as one of the best wingers in La Liga. His eye for the right pass allows him to set his teammates up and elevates the entire team to perform at a higher level.
Williams will only continue to get better with time and Tottenham could get him by paying his £43million release clause. This seems like a very good price for a player of the Spanish winger’s caliber.
However, signing Williams will not be easy. Liverpool would also be more than happy to trigger his release clause and depending on what Hansi Flick wants for his Barcelona side, even the Catalan club could reignite their interest.
