Tottenham to battle Manchester United and Arsenal for Doue brothers
Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race for the signing of French club Rennes young stars, brothers Desire Doue and Guela Doue in the summer, with Premier League rivals, Manchester United and Arsenal also in the fray.
Doue brothers were attracting the European top clubs by their performance for Rennes in the Ligue 1. Desire Doue the younger one, is the most demanded among the brothers. The 19-year-old winger has five goals and four assists from 31 games in the last campaign. The youngster has already been praised by his teammates, they described him as the ‘best they have seen.’
The 21-year-old elder brother, Guela Doue, played as a right-back for the French side. Both of them were Rennes academy players and signed their first professional contract in 2022.
After the brothers became a mainstay for Rennes, the club is expecting £35million for Desire and a decent price for his brother too. The Premier League clubs Manchester United and Arsenal are front in the race, which Spurs joined recently by enquiring about the conditions to sign the Doue brothers from the French side, per Express
“We know today’s market, notably for the very young players,” Stephan said last month. “He will decide through his personal ambition. I’m not naive.”
