Tottenham Hotspur hope to beat Antonio Conte to the signing of Alessandro Buongiorno
According to Football Italia, Tottenham Hotspur are getting ready to sign ex-manager Antonio Conte’s target, Alessandro Buongiorno, from Italian club Torino. Napoli, who signed Antonio Conte as their manager, is in front for the Italian defender.
Antonio Conte was signed as Spurs manager in November 2021. During his tenure at N17, he managed 76 games across all competitions, and Tottenham won 41 among them. Even if he had decent stats with the North Londoners, he failed to bring any silverware to the N17. After the exit of Spurs in the Champions League and FA Cup, he was mutually parted away with the club in 2023.
After he departed from London, the Italian manager didn’t take any clubs for a year. After his pause from the field, Conte is getting ready to come back as Napoli’s tactician. The Italian club was only able to finish in 10th place in the last Serie A season. Napoli is hoping for a comeback in the league with the four-time Serie A winning manager Conte. Naples believes that they can win the Serie A title under their new gaffer, just as they did in the 2022/23 season.
As part of their new changes in the club, Conte is interested to have the Italian defender Buongiorno in his side from Torino. Naples has shown interest to Torino for the player, Fabrizio Romano reported. He also confirmed no talks have begun for the move.
The Italian defender was also called up to Italy’s Euro squad. The Naples
early bid for the player was rejected by the Torino by saying ‘he is not for sale’. They also rejected Atlanta’s offer for the player last summer. Torino also sees him as the next captain of the club.More Tottenham news
