Italian maestro Chiesa headed to North London?

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Juventus winger Federico Chiesa as the North Londoners look to sign a winger in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The Lilywhites have been active in the ongoing window after having already acquired the likes of Archie Gray from Leeds United and Lucas Bergvall joining from Djurgarden, alongside the return of Timo Werner

Daniel Levy and Ange Postecoglou are now looking to build on the radiant start they have enjoyed in the window by targeting an addition to the forward line, with the Italian winger at the top of the list. Spurs have been linked with Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze, and they are now speculated to approach Juventus’ Chiesa.

Will Levy pull off another transfer masterstroke?

Could Chiesa be Tottenham's missing piece?
Could Chiesa be Tottenham’s missing piece?

Former Tottenham player Alan Hutton insists that Daniel Levy would be looking at a potential deal to bring the former Fiorentina ace to N17 owing to his bargain price tag.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Hutton said:

“Of course, he’s a good player. He fits into what they want to do because he can fill in multiple positions. He can play number 10, he can play out wide, he can make runs inside the pitch, and he can make runs outside. He’s one of those players where, if you’re a defender, you need to constantly keep an eye on him because he’s always on the move and he’s always looking to dart in behind you.”

“At that kind of price tag, that is something that they would look at. You look at the likes of Eberechi Eze, who is going to be around £60 million. I know he can play in different positions, but it seems that’s where they’re targeting—those kinds of wide areas and people who can come in, make things happen, and score goals as well.”

“It just depends on how much money they’ve got to spend and what other targets they’re looking for. Are they looking for number nine? Is Richarlison going to leave? Who’s going to play up front? There’s a lot of moving parts, and I suppose we’ve just got to wait and see.”

Tottenham might be eager to add wide options this summer, and the fact that Chiesa is available in a cut-price deal would be playing in Levy’s mind owing to his impeccable potential to decide games on his own.  This could be a transfer masterstroke for the Spurs chairman as he will be signing a player once tipped to be the ‘unplayable’ in Serie A for a bargain fee of €25m.

Chiesa has always been regarded as one of the most dangerous wingers in world football, and Tottenham can land his services in a bargain deal.

Do you think Tottenham should pursue a move for Chiesa at the current estimated pricing?
