Levy masterstroke? Spurs closing in on Ivan Toney bargain

Tottenham Hotspur have been in the market to acquire a marquee striker in the ongoing transfer window, with the likes of Jonathan David, Santiago Gimenez, Alexander Isak, and Ivan Toney linked with a move to White Hart Lane during the summer.

However, the North Londoners have emerged as frontrunners to land Brentford ace Ivan Toney ahead of West Ham this off-season, per The Sun.

Brentford started the season with a monstrous price tag for the England international; however, they have reportedly slashed their initial asking price and are ready to sell the 28-year-old for a cut price fee of under £50 million owing to a lack of initially anticipated interest in his signatures.

The Premier League trio of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United have informed the Bees of their unwillingness to bid for Toney this summer, which realistically narrows down the options to Tottenham and West Ham as potential destinations.

Spurs are seriously evaluating the possibility of bringing Toney to White Hart Lane this summer, owing to his reduced fee.

Ivan Toney enters the final year of his contract at Gtech Community Stadium, and Brentford will be looking to recoup a fee closer to his market value this summer before risking losing his services on a free transfer next summer.

The former Newcastle United ace has scored 36 goals in the Premier League, and he comes with massive experience on his back to help Spurs to a Champions League finish.
