Fulham look to fill Palhinha void with Tottenham star Hojbjerg
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane owing to a lack of minutes under his belt.
Spurs signed Hojbjerg in 2020 for £15 million following his impressive performances for Southampton when Jose Mourinho was in charge at Hotspur Way.
He played an integral role at the club, especially under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. However, he could not replicate similar importance at Spurs once the Australian boss took charge of the club last summer.
This has pushed him towards a move away from N17, and multiple clubs have been looking to sign him this summer. Turkish giants Galatasaray have expressed interest in landing the 28-year-old maestro, while Italian giants Napoli and La Liga side Atletico Madrid are also interested.
Hojbjerg exit looms
While he considers a proposal suiting his priorities, Premier League side Fulham have expressed interest in securing his services this summer, per Football Insider.
The West Londoners have pivoted from signing Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay following the Old Trafford side rejecting their initial offer for the midfielder.
Marco Silva’s side is thin on midfielders with the departure of João Palhinha to Bayern Munich. He only has Tom Cairney, Harrison Reed, and Sasa Lukic with the ability to hold the fort at the heart of the park.
Hojbjerg not only adds experience but also brings stability to a system that Silva has implemented at Craven Cottage. And despite having minutes hard to come by in the Premier League, Hojbjerg started every single game for Denmark in their European Championships campaign, which shows that he still possesses the ability to make an impact on games.

Of all the teams interested, Fulham are in the best position to pay Spurs fair financial compensation for Hojbjerg. We now have to see if they can come to terms with Daniel Levy & Co. to conclude the transfer.
