Tottenham weigh up Martial move as Kane replacement

Tottenham Hotspur have been offered an opportunity to land former Manchester United striker Anthony Martial in the ongoing transfer window.

The North Londoners have been in dire need of a new face up front as they look to fill the Harry Kane void in Ange Postecoglou’s squad. According to Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe, the French ace has been offered at White Hart Lane; however, the club has yet to decide if they are taking up the option to sign the player.

Is a gamble worth taking?

Could Martial be the one to fill Kane's boots?

Martial is a free agent at the moment following the expiry of his contract at Old Trafford, and it will be interesting to see where the 28-year-old ends up this summer.

Martial came to the Premier League in a highly anticipated move when Manchester United acquired him from AS Monaco in a reported €60 million move. However, the French ace failed to live up to expectations in the English top tier, and the Manchester Reds decided to part ways with him upon the expiry of his deal at Old Trafford.

The Lilywhites are looking for a new centre forward, and Martial could turn out to be a useful option for the club. He can not only play in the number nine role but also fit on the flanks.

Accommodating the 28-year-old on a free transfer would be a low-risk investment for the club; however, they have not yet decided if they are willing to pursue a move for his signature.

It will be interesting to see who the club signs this summer, as they are linked with some quality strikers in Ivan Toney, Jonathan David, Santiago Giminez, and Solanke.
