Tottenham set to hold talks with the agent of Baris Alper Yilmaz
Tottenham Hotspur are set to hold talks with the agent of Arsenal’s attacking target Baris Alper Yilmaz, per Sabah.
The North Londoners have been looking to add another offensive player to their roster this summer, despite already strengthening their attack by resigning Timo Werner in another loan deal. The Lilywhites are looking to build on the progress made at White Hart Lane in the last season, and Daniel Levy would want to leave no stone unturned in ensuring Ange Postecoglou has an arsenal at his disposal by bolstering the squad with key signings and ensuring stability within the club.
While all the headlines suggest they are looking to bring marquee number nine, Ange Postecoglou is also looking to add on the flanks, particularly on the right wing.
Can Tottenham win the race for Yilmaz?
Galatasaray offensive sensation Baris Alper Yilmaz has been impressing in the Turkish league over the past year or so and has caught the attention of Daniel Levy & Co., who look to snap another bargain signing this summer. Sabah suggests that the Lilywhites are set to hold crunch talks with the 24-year-old’s agent about a potential transfer to White Hart Lane.
The Turkish international has scored 11 goals and provided a further tally of 14 assists during his stay in Istanbul. The 24-year-old was an important figure in helping Galatasaray to a Super Lig triumph last season; he notched seven goals and 12 assists in 55 appearances across all competitions.
Baris Alper Yilmaz joined the Turkish giants in 2021 and has since become a key component in their squad. He replicated his club form in the European Championship with Turkey as well, something that would raise expectations for his suitors.
Galatasaray looks at him as a key player in the dressing room going forward, and it would be difficult to price him for a cheap deal as the 24-year-old still has three years on his contract with the club. However, the report further states that the Turkish club would be willing to sanction a move if any offer of access to €30 million is made for his services.
