Tottenham mulling Kulusevski exit amid squad overhaul
Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski is one of the surprise names that has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane this summer.
The ongoing window is one for upgrades at N17, and there needs to be vacant positions in the dressing room for new faces to come in, and hence the North Londoners are looking at prospects of a mass exodus. While the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Bryan Gil, and Emerson Royal have been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, Kulusevski is one of the surprise names that could potentially bid adieu to Spurs this summer.
Unexpected: Kulusevski linked with Spurs departure
The Swede international has been linked with a move to Lilywhites Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Italian giants Napoli this summer. The former have already made approaches to see if Spurs are willing to sell.
While journalist Valter De Maggio speaks about Napoli being one of the contenders for the 24-year-old’s services, he also acknowledges that Spurs would demand a €45 million transfer fee for the former Juventus forward. While speaking about Kulusevski’s future on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, De Maggio said:
“Napoli survey for Swedish striker Dejan Kulusevski; Tottenham’s request is 45 million euros. To be seen if the requests will decrease in the coming weeks.”
Kulusevski arrived in North London in 2022 winter in an initial 18-month-long deal that was made permanent last summer. He has featured 96 times wearing the Spurs badge, contributing to 34 goals (15 goals, 19 assists). The 24-year-old played in 36 of the 38 Premiership games last season while contributing towards 11 goals.
Kulusevski still has four years left on his contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and it is difficult to see him leave this summer considering how his style of play complements Ange’s tactics. The Swede admitted that the team is like a family.
Moreover, while Napoli is looking for an attacking player this summer, a price tag of €45 million would be a huge sum for them to pay off as it bounds overboard with their potential budget.
