Tottenham’s summer plans hit a snag as Fuhrich stays put
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for ample of players this summer transfer window as the North Londoners look to upgrade on the current roster at White Hart Lane, and it appears that one of those names would not be moving to N17 as Chris Fuhrich decides against a move to the Lilywhites.
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, a name that the Spurs faithful would recognize after following Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich last summer, has provided the latest update on Chris Fuhrich and his future beyond this summer.
Fuhrich opts to remain at Stuttgart
Florian Plettenberg has taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to acknowledge that the Tottenham target has rejected all options to move away from Stuttgart this summer and he will continue with the German giants instead.
Taking to X, the German journalist wrote:
” Chris #Führich will stay @VfB!
The 26 y/o winger has rejected all options as he has decided to continue with Stuttgart. Führich has already informed Sebastian Hoeneß about his decision.
Silas will also stay as revealed in our show ‚Transfer Update‘ days ago.”
The 26-year-old was subject to interest from London duo Tottenham and Chelsea over a summer transfer. He has been available for a €23m-€25m fee owing to a clause in his contract at MHP Arena. Edin Terzic hailed the player’s qualities on the ball, which has been on show since a young age.
Chris Fuhrich has not exactly been at his best in the recently concluded EURO 2024, and he would not exactly be an immediate upgrade on Spurs loanee Timo Werner.
It is to be seen if Spurs would pivot from Funrich and try to sign the likes of Eberechi Eze this summer, with the latter being a significant addition to the squad.
