Spurs secure bright future with Moore deal
Tottenham Hotspur have an abundance of budding talents in their academy at the moment, and it looks like the club is heading into a positive period after years of struggles to produce a decent academy starlet, and the North Londoners have a golden boy in Mikey Moore.
The Lilywhites lacked a clear path from the academy into the first team over the past decade, and it looks like those days are over, and the Spurs supporters could expect some high-potential players in the immediate future.
Mikey Moore has been one of the brightest upcoming players in the country at the moment. Despite only being sixteen, he was handed his Premier League debut by Ange Postecoglou last season in the defeat against Manchester City. The Australian gaffer followed it up with a late cameo against Sheffield United on the final day of the campaign. Postecoglou called the 16-year-old a “good kid” after the game.
The starlet has been a part of plans at Tottenham going forward, and he is one of the members of the travelling party for Spurs tour of Asia yesterday. He would be hoping to get some minutes in Japan.
Teenage sensation Moore commits future to Spurs
While he continued to showcase his talent at Hotspur Way, the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund showed interest in acquiring his services. It looked like Spurs would struggle to keep hold of the 16-year-old as a plethora of clubs lined up to secure his services.
Last April, the youngster signed a three-year deal, which would take him into his first professional contract when he turns 17 next month. And Tottenham believe that he would sign an extension following a radiant start to his time in men’s games, per Football Insider.
