Postecoglou keen on Chiesa as Spurs step up pursuit
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Juventus winger Federico Chiesa as the North Londoners target a move for marquee forwards in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The North Londoners have already made a bright start to the transfer window after having already sealed the arrivals of Archie Gray from Leeds United and Lucas Bergvall joining from Djurgarden, alongside the return of Timo Werner.
Spurs have been keeping an eye on the situation of the ‘unstoppable’ Italian international, who is linked with a move away from Turin this off-season.
Tottenham target out-of-favour Chiesa
According to a report by Gianluca Di Marzio, the former Fiorentina winger returned to training after a delayed summer break owing to his involvement in the European Championship.
And amid links with a move away from Juventus, the winger has not been training with Thiago Motta’s squad and rather all by himself, highlighting the nature of his current situation at Old Lady.
The report claims that the club is allowing him time to weigh up potential options as he is not part of the plans under new management at Juventus.
Chiesa, labelled ‘world-class‘ by Alessandro Pierini, has entered into the final twelve months of his contract with his current employers, increasing the urgency to conclude a deal for his future.
Tottenham are keen to take advantage of the current situation as the Lilywhites look to land the winger in a bargain deal. Federico Chiesa has a market value of €35m but could be available for a lower fee in the ongoing window.
And his potential makes him an intriguing option for Ange Postecoglou to consider at White Hart Lane.
