Nottingham Forest want £40m+ to sell Tottenham Hotspur target Morgan Gibbs-White
Tottenham Hotspur target Morgan Gibbs-White has been a revelation for Nottingham Forest over the last couple of seasons. His performances have caught the eye of top clubs in England and he could be set for a big transfer this summer.
Forest know that they have a gem on their hands. Gibbs-White is the kind of player who would outgrow them very soon. He deserves to play for a top English club and eventually, play for the Three Lions.
The 24-year-old is courted by the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham. Gibbs-White scored five goals and provided 10 assists in the Premier League last season. These numbers are bound to go up when he plays for an attack-minded team.
According to Football Insider, Forest are reluctant to sell Gibbs-White despite the obvious interest in him. The club is likely to demand a fee in excess of £40m this transfer window if Tottenham want to sign him.
The Nottingham club’s hope is that their asking price deters potential suitors. Nuno Espirito Santos & co. want to build the team around Gibbs-White but know that retaining him would be close to impossible should a suitable offer arrive.
Former Brighton striker Glenn Murray was full of praise for the 24-year-old Englishman last season. Here is what he had to say
“He’s just always positive. He’s got another side to his game – he doesn’t shirk his responsibilities and fights back. For me, that’s why he has become a really positive leader for Nottingham Forest.”
Getting labelled ‘a leader’ at such a young age is not common but when one watches Gibbs-White play on the pitch, the command is obvious. The 24-year-old marshalls his team and is often seen shouting out instructions.
Stylistically, Gibbs-White might not be the best on the ball but he more than makes up for it with his passion and incredible energy on the field. In many ways, he reminds you of a more attacking-minded Conor Gallagher.
