Tottenham in advanced talks for Eberechi Eze
Tottenham Hotspur are looking to make a move for Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze as the North Londoners look to build on the progress they enjoyed last season.
While Spurs enjoyed a radiant start to the summer transfer window as they welcomed three arrivals, they haven’t been able to replicate similar success off late, especially with snapping marquee players.
However, Ange Postecoglou recently assured that the club is working behind the scenes. And Eze is one of the players that the Lilywhites are looking to sign this summer.
The club has already initiated talks with the former QPR midfielder’s agents, per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
Spurs Look to steal a march on rivals for Eze
Eze has risen to the top of Spurs transfer target lists owing to his excellent performances in the last season, and they are looking to get the deal over the line ahead of a host of Premier League rivals, who have also expressed interest in his signatures.
Spurs are not the only suitors for Eze’s signatures this summer. According to Romano, “all the big clubs,” including Manchester City and Arsenal, are monitoring the situation with the £60 million-rated midfielder. However, Tottenham are in constant talks with his agents.
Romano wrote (vis. GMS):
‘Man City had Eze on their list already last summer, while Tottenham have been in contact with his agents since February – the interest is absolutely still there but again, no bids yet.’
While Tottenham have expressed interest in the £100,000-a-week player, they haven’t made any official bids. Daniel Levy & Co. will have to work fast to secure any possible deal for the player nicknamed the ‘drunken master’ and ensure that they snap his services before it turns into a royal rumble of Premiership giants.
