Dejan Kulusevski’s words tell Tottenham why they must hijack Viktor Gyokeres signing
According to Football. London, Tottenham must hijack the signing of Viktor Gyokeres and add him to the Swedish bandwagon at the club that involves Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall.
Kulusevski recently spoke on Spurs’ official YouTube channel talking about the rapidly increasing Swedish fanbase for the North London club. The club also have an excellent reach in Australia, thanks to Ange Postecoglou
“I think a lot of Sweden will be Spurs fans now.”
If Tottenham add Viktor Gyokeres, a player they are linked with to the bandwagon, this statement would increase to a huge proposition. The Sporting CP striker has been “fantastic”, scoring a truckload of goals.
We covered a story yesterday revealing Tottenham are set to rival Liverpool for the 26-year-old striker. Arsenal and Chelsea were also credited with interest in bringing the ex-Coventry City striker back to English football.
Gyokeres has established himself as one of the most feared marksmen in Europe over the last 12 months. He scored 43 goals in 49 games across all competitions last season, capturing the attention of top clubs.
Spurs have been lacking a number nine in the squad ever since the exit of Harry Kane last summer. The club legend is now a Bayern Munich player and Tottenham missed his goals to a certain extent last summer.
Signing a number nine ahead of the new season is of paramount importance if Spurs want to take the step up to the next level. We cannot have another season with Richarlison leading the line for Tottenham.
Gyokeres might be a one-season wonder but if he wants to dispel that tag, he will have to continue his performances into the new campaign. Whether it will be at Sporting CP or a new club remains to be seen.
