Tottenham want to sell £70k per week 'top player' but injury record is scaring off potential buyers

Spurs struggle to offload injury-prone Lo Celso

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane this summer; however, potential suitors are reluctant to make substantial moves for his signatures owing to his injury record, per Corriere della Sera.

The Argentine player-maker has struggled to find his feet at N17 despite signing for the club in a highly anticipated transfer as he penned a deal with Spurs before the end of his initial loan from Real Betis. While he had a fantastic six months donning the Lilywhites badge, Gio struggled to replicate the same during the years that followed.

Making only four starts for Tottenham last season, the £70k per week ‘top player’ looks like a surplus at White Hart Lane, and his services could soon be replaced by Ange Postecoglou.

Injuries have not helped his cause of securing a place in Spurs eleven; he missed fourteen games for the club owing to injuries last season, including knee problems, a hamstring injury, and a muscle injury.

Lazio hesitant to make move for injury-prone Lo Celso

Italian side Lazio have expressed interest in his services; however, they have been cautious about whether they should convert their interest into an arrival.

While for Spurs, they are ‘ready to let him go,’ however, the ‘repeated physical problems’ that have surrounded him for a while are ‘scary’.

The fear that he would take up a consistent position at the treatment table has prevented clubs from making a move for Lo Celso.

While his arrival was expected to be an Eriksen replacement, he has been a mere shadow to an ample of players at the club, and it is sad to see the Argentine in such a situation, especially considering the excitement his transfer garnered in those initial six months.

We will see if any potential suitors make their interest in the player a serious one and convert that into a possible transfer.
