Tottenham Hotspur secure deal for rising star Yang Min-hyuk
Tottenham Hotspur have officially signed South Korean prodigy Yang Min-hyuk, with the teenager revealing he has already spoken to Heung-Min Son about a potential move to North London.
The 18-year-old becomes the third arrival at N17 this summer, with Daniel Levy & Co. already concluding a deal to bring Archie Gray from Leeds United and resigning Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig.
While the club has announced his signing this summer, he will not step into the dressing room at Hotspur Way until January, when the ongoing K-League season will conclude.
However, Spurs faithful will have an opportunity to have a look at him before he wears the Tottenham badge. Yang will face Ange Postecoglou’s Lilywhites in the pre-season friendly against K-League all-stars this week.
Son welcomes new Spurs signing Yang Min-hyuk
Despite the club’s only being in South Korea for less than 24 hours, it appears that Son has already had a chat with Tottenham’s latest starlet.
He spoke about how Sonny advised him to start working on his English before arriving in North London.
The Gangwon FC starlet said in a live broadcast:
“I met Son Heung Min in Seoul while completing the last part of my medical test for Tottenham. He told me that I am playing well and that I should study English diligently from now on.”
He also expressed his shock at Spurs’ interest in his signatures and how he was delighted when the official negotiations progressed between the clubs.
“When I first heard about Tottenham’s interest, I couldn’t believe that a team like Tottenham was interested in me. When I heard that official negotiations had begun, I was delighted.”
