Spurs urged to offload Lo Celso
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane this summer as he struggles to accumulate minutes under his belt under Ange Postecoglou’s tutelage.
The Argentine midfielder has been surplus to the requirements at N17 for the majority of the last season. He has entered the final year of his contract at Spurs and the club would be looking to move him on than losing him on a free transfer next summer.
Lo Celso nightmare continues as Spurs desperate for an exit
Owner of the reputed Spurs podcast, Lilywhites Rose, John Wenham has urged Tottenham to sell the former PSG maestro this summer. He believes that getting rid of his services should be one of the priorities of the transfer window at Spurs.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham said:
“The whole situation with Lo Celso is incredibly frustrating, Levy just needs to get rid of him.
“A club in Spain could literally sign him for £10million and I am sure he would do very well over there. He just isn’t suited to the Premier League or Tottenham and his sale should therefore be an absolute priority.
“He is earning more than £100,000-per-week and he is five months away from being able to agree a pre-contract with another club to leave for free. Therefore, Tottenham need to do whatever it takes to move him on.”
With a free transfer looming just around the corner, if he stays out at White Hart Lane, Daniel Levy will have to find a solution before it’s too late.
Agreeing to a new contract to maintain his price is also a problem as his mighty wages make it difficult to move on, and it could come to bite back for Spurs.
If the situation remains as it is, the player will be eligible to sign a new pre-agreement with a new club next January.
