Reguilon holds talks over Sevilla move amid Spurs exit
Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, and the Spaniard has already held talks with Sevilla director Victor Orta over a possible return to the Spanish giants in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Real Madrid academy graduate is a surplus at N17 as he is not part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans, and the club is keen on chasing in on his services before the transfer window concludes. The Spanish full-back has been in talks with Sevilla sporting director Victor Orta, who considers the 27-year-old the preferred option to bolster their defender, per Vamos Mi Sevilla FC.
Reguilon heading back to Spain? Sevilla in pole position
Reguilon has spent the past couple of seasons on the road despite being on Spurs books. While he would have hoped to get an opportunity to find his feet under Ange Postecoglou at Hotspur Way, that boat has looked to have sailed. He currently earns £53k a week which Spurs might want off their books.
The player played the 2023–24 season on loan at Manchester United and Brentford. And despite him being back at N17, Reguilon has been left out of the Spurs squad for the pre-season 2024 tour to Asia. The club hopes that the 27-year-old will find a new club before they come back to London.
Sevilla have been linked with Reguilon as they look to bring in the player who helped them win the Europa League in 2019/20. The La Liga giants are keen on bringing a new left-back this summer, as Marcos Acuna and Ludwig Augustinsson have been linked with moves away from the club.
