Ange reassures fans on Skipp injury
Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has lifted the curtains on injury concerns surrounding Oliver Skipp, as the Australian gaffer insists that the Hotspur Way academy graduate will be available in Saturday’s exhibition game against Bayern Munich.
The North Londoners continued their time in Asia with a 4-3 win over the K-League All Stars at the Seoul Stadium on Wednesday, and the game proved to be an end-to-end affair. While the former Celtic boss would be delighted with the attacking output of his team, he would be furious about the defensive side of the game.
Alongside the defensive structure, Ange would also be concerned about Oliver Skipp’s injury concerns. The Spurs academy starlet was caught on the knee with five minutes to spare in the clock, and he looked to be in some discomfort, although he continued to play till the final whistle. Skipp was moving gingerly by the time the game came to its conclusion.
Spurs get injury scare but Skipp to play Bayern
And Ange has now confirmed that there is nothing to worry about on the injury side of things with Skipp. The midfielder is expected to be fit for the club’s friendly against Bayern Munich at the weekend.
Speaking about the 23-year-old’s injury concerns on the North Londoners official website on Wednesday, Ange said (via. Football.London):
“I think he will be fine. It was just a knock. I think the important thing is that everyone should have gotten through the game okay, so it’s more minutes for the lads.”
The Australian gaffer also expressed delight that Radu Dragusin got his premier minutes of pre-season and also expects Destiny Udogie to find some game time coming his way at the weekend.
