Sergio Reguilón would like to leave Spurs on one condition
As reported by TBR Football, Spurs defender Sergio Reguilón will only leave Spurs this summer if a club playing a European competition in 2024/25 come for him.
The Spain international was left out of Spurs’ pre-season squad touring Asia and allowed to find new employers this summer.
Reguilón spent the first half of last season on loan at Man United and the second half on loan at Brentford, and even at the latter he shone only in fleeting moments.
Reguilón moved to Spurs from Real Madrid four years ago in a £32m move. His £53k-per-week contract at Spurs expires next summer.
In his four years on the North London club’s books, Reguilón has represented the Lilywhites 67 times.
Last month, it was reported that Manchester United was interested in bringing him back to Old Trafford, but those rumours have cooled down on that front since then.
Spurs better help Reguilón out
Ange Postecoglou does not fancy Reguilón, that much is clear. He is in the final year of his Spurs contract, which will not be extended.
If the Spaniard’s demand for European football with his next club is not met this summer, Spurs could lose him for free next summer; being a Europa League winner, Reguilón would back himself to earn a contract with a Europe-playing club if he weren’t attached to a club.
