Spurs want to sell Richarlison before transfer window shuts
According to GiveMeSport, Spurs are “determined” to offload their Brazilian forward Richarlison in the ongoing transfer window.
Spurs are eyeing a readymade solution up front and have been linked with the likes of Ivan Toney and Jonathan David.
Before they can bring one such striker, however, they need to generate funds and are thus looking to move the 27-year-old on.
Having arrived in London two seasons ago and having had a disastrous debut campaign, Richarlison opened up about his mental health struggles last season. He was duly offered support by Ange Postecoglou both publically and internally, who was in turn rewarded with a double-digit goal tally in the league by Richarlison.
Spurs were reluctant to let Richarlison go earlier this summer but have seemingly changed their mind since. The Saudi Pro League has been long touted to be his likeliest destination.
Richarlison’s current Spurs contract, bringing him £90k per week in salary, expires in June 2027.
This could work on one condition
Football can often be too cutthroat a business for second chances. This feels like one of those cases.
Tottenham are not in a position to hand out opportunities the likes of which Richarlison currently needs, so moving him on seems like the right thing to do.

One only hopes that, at his new home, Richarlison is given as much psychological support as he needs. For Spurs, on the other hand, if and when they sell him on, they better be ready with a replacement, otherwise, they will find themselves very short-staffed up front.
