Spurs’ Moore making waves
Tottenham Hotspur starlet Mikey Moore has been tagged to become the next big thing, and his potential has got everyone at White Hart Lane excited as he embeds himself in the first team at N17 at only sixteen years of age.
When the academy graduate was introduced against Manchester City in the English top tier at the conclusion of last season, he became the youngest-ever Premier League appearance maker for Spurs. He did so at an astonishing age of sixteen years, nine months, and three days.
While the Spurs faithful had a share of excitement when he made his debut, no one expected him to progress at this pace. Ange Postecoglou kept the player around the first team ranks for the remainder of the games to have a closer look at Moore, and he grabbed this opportunity with two hands.
Moore’s maturity
Highly acclaimed Spurs journalist Alasdair Gold, speaking on his podcast, Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham, suggested that people within the club have been left highly impressed with Moore and that despite his teenage, he is already vocal in training, which is ridiculous given his status in the squad.
Gold said:
“That’s what I’ve been told about Mikey Moore. Mikey Moore is very vocal.”
He continued: “Yeah, he’s only 16, Mikey, which is ridiculous, but he is only 16, apparently on the training, and he is quite vocal.”
This is an extraordinary piece of insight from Gold. Having someone this talented with such leadership and vocal abilities could go a long way for Tottenham. It adds to the excitement around the possibilities that he can help Spurs achieve.
