Spurs target Turkish winger Yilmaz
Tottenham Hotspur have well-established links to bring Galatasaray star Baris Alper Yilmaz in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The North Londoners have been looking to sign the 24-year-old as Ange Postecoglou looms to add to his offensive options in the ongoing summer transfer window. The Australian gaffer is looking to compound his squad before going into next season.
Tottenham in battle for Yilmaz with Arsenal
Baris Alper Yilmaz has been putting in some stellar performances in the Turkish top tier. He scored seven goals and complemented those goals with 12 assists in 55 games in all competitions. The Turk inspired Galatasaray to a Turkish Super Lig title, and he has since been linked with a move away from his current employers.
Yilmaz complemented his domestic performances with international success. His antics at the recently concluded European Championship showed his ability and determination.
The player who’s been likened to Gareth Bale owing to his strength and speed by his former coach, Ilker Puren, has been valued at £24 million by his current employers. And he has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Tottenham this summer.
The links to the Premier League don’t come as a surprise, as former Turkish international Selcuk Inan claims that the 24-year-old could play for Real Madrid and Barcelona.
While the Lilywhites ponder on whether to bring the Turk to White Hart Lane next season, Arsenal have leapfrogged Spurs into signing the 24-year-old this summer.
Mikel Arteta’s side has been lining up a €20million offer for the 24-year-old as they look to bring Baris Alper Yilmaz as an understudy to Bukayo Saka, per Sok Gazetesi.
Tottenham will have to fortify their pursuit of Baris Alper Yilmaz if they are to snap his signature and hijack the deal from under Arsenal’s noses.
