Tottenham face competition for Eberechi Eze

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze this summer as the North Londoners look to compound on their current squad before going into the upcoming season.

The England international has been linked with a move away from the Eagles, and his current employers are concerned that the Arsenal academy reject would join an exodus of big-name players at Selhurst Park before the conclusion of the ongoing summer transfer window, per Football Insider.

Michael Olise has already moved on from Palace as he joined Bayern Munich earlier this summer, while former Chelsea defender Guehi has also been subject to strong links with Newcastle United. Palace have already been speaking to the Toons representatives over a possible move for Guehi, and they have asked for an initial fee of £50 million for Guehi.

Tottenham have been lurking around a move for the drunken master, with Premier League rivals Liverpool and Arsenal also linked with a possible transfer for the 26-year-old ace. Losing Eze could be a big blow to Oliver Glasner’s side, as they are staring at the possibility of losing all three of their star players from last season in the ongoing summer window.

There have been reports about Eze having a £60 million release clause in his current contract at Palace. While Spurs have been interested in pulling the trigger for the aforementioned clause, Football Insider reveals that the buyout clause is only active for Champions League clubs.

The Eagles at the moment are desperate to keep hold of £100,000 per week midfielder this summer even if big money is presented for his services.

The player netted 11 goals and provided six assists in 31 games across all competitions in the last season, and Palace would be hoping he continues to provide such consistent output going into next season.

For Tottenham, they will have to push Palace into selling Eze. He would be the marquee arrival that Spurs are looking for this summer.
