Richarlison future in doubt amid striker links
Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane this summer, as the Brazilian’s inconsistent display in front of goal is deemed not enough for the North Londoners, especially if they were to compete for the silverware in the upcoming seasons.
Richy has been subject to links away from Hotspur Way along the summer window, and that has remained the case despite his public plea suggesting that he is going nowhere. The majority of the interests have come from the Middle East, with Saudi Pro clubs looking to sign the former Watford star this summer.
The Brazilian star has enjoyed a mixed time in his stint at Hotspur Way following his €70 million-rated move from Everton in July 2022. In his time representing Spurs, Richarlison has made 66 appearances, although those have only produced 15 goals and eight assists. This is a wearying output, especially considering he is to replace Harry Kane in a way. He currently earns £130k a week at Spurs.
His struggles in front of goals have been complemented by injury problems. This forced Ange Postecoglou to play Son down the middle in the last campaign.
New striker could signal end for Richarlison at Spurs
Now, going into next season, Tottenham have been linked with a move for a new marquee striker. Sources at Football Insider suggest that Richy might depart North London if Levy sanctions a move for a new centre-forward before the 30 August deadline.
The report states that there are “huge question marks” about the 27-year-old’s future at White Hart Lane if Spurs find a new number nine this summer.
The North Londoners have been linked with the likes of Dominic Solanke, Ivan Toney, and Jonathan David for a possible move this summer. And if Spurs choose to amplify their interest in an arrival, Richy might be pushed out the door to make space in the Lilywhites roster.
