Tottenham eye Solanke as Harry Kane replacement
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for a marquee striker in the ongoing summer transfer window and the North Londoners are looking to fortify attempts to land Bournemouth centre-forward Dominic Solanke.
Ange Postecoglou has been prioritising a move for new number nine as he looks to bring a clinical presence upfront. The Australian boss played without Harry Kane in the last season following the England International’s move away from White Hart Lane and he would want to fill his void in the offensive line this summer.
Postecoglou keen on Solanke signing
The Bournemouth striker has been aggressively linked with a move to N17 over the past week and the Liverpool academy graduate has a £65m release clause in his current contract at Vitality Stadium, per Football Insider.
The Cherries striker is keen on making the move away from Andoni Iraola’s side and alongside Tottenham faithful, Liverpool would be keeping a keen eye on the proceedings with the Merseyside Reds holding a significant sell-on clause from when the player moved to Bournemouth in 2019.
The report claims that Daniel Levy & the officials at Hotspur Way have already made contact with the South Coast side over a potential deal for the 26-year-old’s services. The player signed a four-year deal with his current employers last year, just months into his best season in the English top tier.
The £70,000 per week ace scored 21 goals in 42 outings in the 2023-24 campaign with nineteen of those goals coming in the Premier League. And Spurs have set sights on his signatures after failing to replace departed talisman Harry Kane.
As of now, Spurs have a host of players who can play in the striking role, albeit none of them can come close to the impact that Solanke can have at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
