Tottenham yet to reach out to Bournemouth to make offer for Dominic Solanke
According to British football journalist Alex Crook, Spurs are yet to make an offer for Bournemouth’s star striker Dominic Solanke.
This claim emerges on the back of renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano having recently claimed that the Lilywhites had in fact begun negotiations with the Cherries for a move for the 26-year-old.
Bournemouth want £65 million to let Solanke go this summer, with his £70k-a-week contract otherwise set to keep him at the Vitality till June 2027.
The one-cap England international has been in demand all summer after delivering 19 league goals last season to help Bournemouth finish their Premier League campaign a comfortable 12th.
Solanke is also attracting interest from Spurs’ North London rivals, Arsenal, who are also in need of an out-and-out striker going into the coming season.
Take your pick
Romano may be a celebrity in the football journalism space, but Crook is not a completely unreliable source for transfers when it comes to the Premier League.
We can assume that the reality lies somewhere in the murky middle, that Spurs have made it known to Bournemouth through informal channels that they are interested in Solanke, so we can soon expect someone like David Ornstein dropping in with one of his “bombs” providing the final verdict on whether or not this move will happen before the window slams shut.
