Tottenham in line for £7m windfall as ex-winger closes in on Serie A transfer

Tottenham Hotspur are set to benefit from one of the deals Daniel Levy made far back, as his business acumen is about to profit the North Londoners with another hefty sum, which could further bolster Spurs’ chances to land another marquee signing in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon are said to be open to selling Hotspur Way academy starlet Marcus Edwards in the ongoing window, with Premier League side Crystal Palace lurking to snap the signatures of 22k-per-week winger, per Record (via. Sports Witness).

Tottenham set for windfall from Marcus Edwards sale

Tottenham could reap rewards for Edwards sale

Spurs would be set to benefit from any Marcus Edwards movement owing to a sell-on clause in his contract, which would reap significant benefits at White Hart Lane.

The Lilywhites have been linked with a move to resign the 25-year-old this summer with Football.London is reporting that his services would be available on discount to Spurs since they still have a 35-percent sell-on clause on the player.

However, the club went ahead to bring other options to North London as Wilson Odobert arrived from Burnley, with Mickey Moore looking likely to land some minutes under his belt this season.

The record now states that the Eagles have offered Edwards an opportunity to earn his way back to the Welsh and English top tiers.

North London club in line for profit

Sporting Lisbon are willing to cash in on the player this summer, with the Portuguese giants expecting around €25m–€30m for Marcus Edwards services.

However, while the Eagles have expressed interest, they aren’t the only ones vying for Edwards’ signatures, as the likes of Al Nassr and Juventus are also pursuing a probable move for the winger.
