Tottenham Hotspur gained their first three points of the season as Ange Postecoglou’s men netted four in their Premier League fixture against Everton at White Hart Lane this weekend.

This marks Ange’s first win of the season after his side were forced to share points with Leicester City in the previous campaign.

Yves Bissouma stars in Tottenham’s dominant display

It was an emphatic victory as Yves Bissouma made his presence felt. The Mali international gained the first start to his season, and he made a mark for Spurs, showing his increasing importance in Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham.

And James Maddison, who is generally the centre of the creative department at N17, spoke about the involvement of Yves Bissouma as the former Brighton midfielder was starting his first game of the 2024/25 season.

Bissouma missed the first game of the season owing to an internal suspension owing to disciplinary reasons, but he announced his arrival in style as he put banger behind Pickford to open the scoring for the Lilywhites.

Maddison praises Yves after Tottenham’s victory

Madison was struck by his teammate’s abilities as he spoke to the BBC in his post-game interview. The England international praised Yves for his grinding in the training and in-games.

Maddison said: (via. BBC)

“The scoreline is quite devastating when you look at 4-0. I think we thoroughly deserved it. We dominated and we felt we should have had three points last Monday [against Leicester].

“We all know Yves’ [Bissouma] ability. He is a ridiculous player at times. He has got a skill not many have. The gaffer is a great man with good morals. He [Yves] has to keep working hard.

“The performance was there on Monday. It was a case of not putting our chances away. It’s important you try and put into practice what the manager wants. It’s about us trusting him.”

Tottenham would be hoping that Yves would be equally

a menace across the season, and he continues to put in goal-scoring displays as they look to better on Ange Postecoglou’s first season in charge at White Hart Lane.

Spurs will now visit St. James Park as they are set to face Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United next weekend, a game that will be a tricky outing as Ange Postecoglou’s side look to build on Spurs win over Everton.
