Tottenham want priority option on 22-year-old Cardoso to sell Giovani Lo Celso to Real Betis.

Tottenham Hotspur has moved a couple of things around this summer. With Ange Postecoglou’s third transfer window, he brought in a few players along with a few bidding goodbye to the lane. Argentine midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is another name which has been on the list of transfers lately.

Real Betis have been keen to get their hands on the two-time Copa America winner. Lo Celso looks to leave London after four seasons as he made a return from Villareal last season. However, As Real Betis has shown more interest in the midfielder, Postecoglou and his club have made an interesting demand.

Johnny Cardoso to be a part of Lo Celso Deal 

According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham looks to include American midfielder Jonny Cardoso as a part of the deal. It states that Tottenham would like to have a priority option to buy the midfielder in the future. Cardoso who started his career at Internacional, joined La Liga side Real Betis in December 2023. 

The Giovani Lo Celso transfer saga has been ongoing for a month. Ange Postecoglou talking about Lo Celso and Reguilon quoted in a press conference before deadline day

“It’s fair to say both players are exploring options,” Postecoglou added. “I don’t get too involved in that part of it, that’s between players, players’ representatives and the club.

With Real Betis upping their interest at deadlines, Tottenham will look forward to making the most out of it. The social media post also states that in future if the Spurs decide to not go for Cardoso, they will ask for a percentage of his future sales.
