Tottenham hopeful of Yang Min-hyeok becoming one of the club’s best pieces of summer transfer business
Ange Postecoglou oversaw a significant squad rebuild at Tottenham Hotspur over the past summer transfer window. This involved fresh, dynamic talents being brought into the club and fringe players/deadwood leaving either on loan or permanently.
After clinching a Europa League berth in his debut season in North London, Ange Postecoglou has deservingly been backed by chairman Daniel Levy. The arrivals of Timo Werner, Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, Dominic Solanke and Wilson Odobert have bolstered Big Ange’s squad.
Bergvall, a central midfielder by trade, was signed from Djurgardens in February and loaned back to the Swedish club until the end of last season. He officially joined Spurs in July and is now slowly being integrated into the squad by our gaffer.
Tottenham have performed the same trick by signing Yang Min-hyeok in a £3.4million deal from FC Gangwon earlier this summer and loaning him back to the South Korean club until January to continue his development. He has signed a six-year contract at the Hotspur Way.

One of the K-League’s hottest young prospects, Yang Min-hyeok will link up with Big Ange’s forces during the winter window after completing the campaign with FC Gangwon. The teenage prodigy has caught the eye in Asia and beyond for his explosive displays in the K-League, bagging eight goals and five assists in 29 league appearances.
According to a report from GIVEMESPORT, Tottenham are hopeful that the signing of Yang Min-hyeok from FC Gangwon will pay off handsomely and that he will go on to become one of the club’s best pieces of summer transfer business in the future. The speedy winger,
who has unsurprisingly drawn comparisons already with Spurs skipper Son Heung-min, has the potential to become worth significantly more than the £3.4million sum splashed by Spurs for his signature.
Big Ange and Spurs are supposedly keeping tabs on Yang’s performances for FC Gangwon, which has been impressive thus far. Our gaffer, in particular, should be keenly following him as he plans to integrate the South Korean flyer once he officially joins our club at the turn of the year.
The aforementioned report claims the Spurs boss is set to monitor the performance of Yang in FC Gangwon’s top-of-the-table clash with Ulsan later this month. The 59-year-old wants to gauge how far the teenager is with his ‘game-changing ability’ in big games as FC Gangwon locks horns with Ulsan.
Yang will be like a new signing for the Lilywhites upon his arrival in January. Should he impress for FC Gangwon between now and the end of the season, the highly-rated Asian talent could immediately become an option out wide for Postecoglou’s squad.

The South Korea under-17 international is prominently a right-winger but can also operate on the opposite flank, so our Greek-Aussie tactician may plan to use him as a rotational option with the current crop of wide players. However, a lot will depend on how Yang does for his current club in the next few months. A decision on the winger’s future after he officially becomes a Spurs player will be taken based on that.
