Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has endured a difficult spell over the past six months or so, with the Brazilian struggling with consistent injuries that have kept him sidelined and out of the Spurs. While he continues to nurse yet another injury, Richy is now facing legal action for non-football reasons, per The Sun.

The former Everton star is said to have sacked his personal assistant without warning, who is going the legal route and claiming to have been left emotionally scarred.

Tottenham striker Richarlison dragged to court by former assistant

Richarlison’s personal assistant till last year, Reginaldo Pereira, has filed the case, claiming to have been sacked suddenly by the Brazilian star.

Mr. Pereira has reportedly been a part of Richy’s team for quite some time; the 60-year-old accompanied Richarlison from Brazil to England when he joined Watford and stayed with him through his time at Everton, followed by when he joined Spurs in 2022. He also claims that the player did not register him whilst paying his £500-a-week wages straight into his account, giving no holidays in the due period.

He also claims that Richarlison’s father, Antonio Marcos de Andrade, forced him to work hours complemented by verbal abuses and making excessive demands out of the 60-year-old.

He insists that the responsibilities grew on him as he was taking care of the 27-year-old’s pets as well before he was eventually let go without notice in Richarlison’s cinema room.

Former assistant claims emotional distress

Richarlison has been dragged to the court in claim of £95,000 as Reginaldo Pereira claims to have been left physically and emotionally broken by his dismissal.

Speaking to the Sun, Mr. Pereira said, “After being dismissed, I had to seek medical treatment to deal with the negative impacts of this toxic environment. My wife filed for divorce. I’m emotionally shaken and unemployed.”

The premilinary hearing for the suite is set to take place next month in Watford.
