Tottenham Hotspur skipper Heung-Min Son has been subject to injury woes off late, with the 32-year-old serving the sidelines after he picked up a problem in the Lilywhites Europa League game against Qarabag. The South Korean has been a noticeable absentee since, with his absence felt in Spurs latest defeat against Brighton at American Express Stadium, where the Seagulls overcame a 2-0 trail to secure a memorable comeback with three second-half goals.
With the international break in October, the North Londoners made a decision not to send the player to represent his nation as he continued his rehabilitation at Hotspur Way.
King praises decision to rest Son
Ex-Tottenham scout Bryan King believes that it was a ‘wise’ decision for the 32-year-old Spurs skipper to miss the October international break games, as he believes that his recovery will likely have been sped with his stay at Hotspur Way.

King, speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, said:
“This is a boost for Postecoglou. Spurs have been troubled by injuries to key players this season. I think the main thing is that Son looks as though he is going to recover.
“It was wise for him not to travel with South Korea, as it allowed him to concentrate on his recovery. I don’t care who you are, travelling that much if you have got an injury, isn’t going to help.
“Therefore, him staying behind has probably sped up his recovery by a week or so. I was pleased about that.”
South Korean skipper could return for West Ham match
Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe recently reported that “positive injury news” has emerged out of White Hart Lane, as the club is hopeful that Wilson Odobert, Richarlison, and Son will all take part in first-team training in the upcoming week.
Son is an integral figure in the dressing room, and his mere presence is not only enough to boost the confidence of the squad but also deter the opponents strategy.
Ange Postecoglou spoke about how the South Korean was close to making it to the squad against Brighton. While the decision was made not to involve him, Spurs faithful will remain hopeful that the squad’s skipper is fit to play against West Ham when the Premier League resumes.
