Tottenham Hotspur have a plethora of young players at Hotspur Way as Daniel Levy has been looking to make a pathway from the academy to Ange Postecoglou’s first team, and another highly touted young player at N17 is Tyrese Hall, who has been linked with a probable loan transfer to Stoke City, per reports by Darren Witcoop.
Stoke are looking to strengthen their roster in the ongoing winter transfer window, and they have been looking at a possible move for Hall, although different opinions have emerged around the prospect of the 19-year-old moving to the Championship side.
Tyrese Hall and the possible loan exit
While ex-Tottenham scout Bryan King likes the prospect of the proposed move, John Wenham, owner of the reported Spurs podcast Lilywhites Rose, has dismissed the rumours surrounding the U21 midfielder moving to Stoke City.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, the podcast host said:
“I wasn’t convinced by that report. I’ve not heard that information whatsoever. Therefore, I was a bit surprised by that. I do think Hall will leave the club on loan, don’t get me wrong. However, I’m not sure Stoke would be the right move for him, just in terms of the way they play and the way he plays.
“I think he would be better suited starting with a League One loan, where that will be I’m not sure. However, I wouldn’t read much into the Stoke City news, I’ve not heard anything from the many people I speak to.”
Hall has been playing some standout football for Tottenham Under-21s, and his compact in the age group suggests his readiness to make the next steps in his development. And despite his exemplary performances, he hasn’t been able to convert them into senior appearances for the North Londoners, and maybe he needs to grind it out on loan to earn that opportunity.
