Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings vs Bodø/Glimt – UEFA Europa League
Tottenham’s season has not gone as planned, with the Lilywhites eliminated from both domestic competitions, and now fighting for their lives to hold onto splinters of hope in pursuing European football. They are now set to face Bodø/Glimt in the first leg of the semi-final, this tie represents both Ange Postecoglou and Spurs’ last chance at silverware.
Meanwhile, the Norwegian side has enjoyed a good season thus far and are currently sitting in fourth place in their domestic league. They have already made history by reaching their first-ever European semi-final, and with confidence high, they travelled N17 ready to take on Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur produced one of their most impressive first-half performances of the season, dominating possession with rhythm, confidence, and intensity. Ange Postecoglou’s philosophy was on full display, with every player contributing fluidly and James Maddison orchestrating play from midfield. The England international delivered a masterclass in vision and precision, pinging long-range passes with ease—evoking shades of Pirlo and Iniesta at their best.
Spurs got off to a flying start, with Brennan Johnson nodding home a well-placed header in the opening minute. The momentum never dipped, and Maddison capped off a commanding half-hour with a composed finish to double the lead. Bodø/Glimt, despite a few half-chances, struggled to get a foothold in the game. By half-time, Spurs held a comfortable 2–0 lead and were in complete control, buoyed by strong home support.
The second half followed a similar script, with Tottenham continuing their dominance in possession and piling on the pressure. Their attacking threat was relentless, and it eventually yielded a third goal in the 61st minute when Dominic Solanke calmly converted from the penalty spot after Cristian Romero was brought down in the box. Bodø/Glimt simply couldn’t cope with the waves of Tottenham attacks, with blocked efforts from Reo Griffiths, Solanke, and Dejan Kulusevski keeping the visitors pinned back. Yves Bissouma and Romero also came close, while Pedro Porro enjoyed consistent success delivering dangerous crosses from the right flank.
Bodø/Glimt pulled one back late on through Ulrik Saltnes in the 81st minute—his strike taking a slight deflection off Bentancur—but it proved nothing more than a consolation. Spurs controlled the majority of the match and cruised to a convincing 3–1 victory, taking a big step forward in their European campaign.
Tottenham Player Ratings
Guglielmo Vicario: 6/10
Was largely untested for most of the match but could do little to prevent Saltnes’ goal, which took a slight deflection off Bentancur. However, the Italians’ distribution—previously a point of heavy criticism—was outstanding on the day, showcasing precision and confidence throughout.
Cristian Romero: 8/10
Drew the foul for the penalty and was dominant aerially, though he did receive a yellow for a clumsy foul. Showed aggression and leadership, a much-needed performance
Micky van de Ven: 7/10
He offered recovery pace at the back and also helped progress play. Outpaced, outmanoeuvred and outmuscled the Bodo-Glimt attack
Pedro Porro: 7/10
A constant threat on the right flank with multiple dangerous deliveries, especially during the second half. Provided width and supported attacks relentlessly. The Spaniard just proved his worth as one of the best right-backs in the Prem

Rodrigo Bentancur: 6/10
Calm and composed, helped link defence and attack. Created space well and drew fouls in key areas. Had some fair runs, but his highlight was definitely the possession play and time he enjoyed with the ball.
James Maddison: 9/10
Scored a tidy goal to make it 2–0 and assisted several chances. His vision and execution in the final third stood out before coming off. Injury scare but the Englishman proved his worth, saw shades of Xavi, Kroos. Made the Bodo-Glimt players look like amateurs
Brennan Johnson: 7/10
Opened the scoring with a sharp header and looked lively throughout. His directness caused problems early on
Dominic Solanke: 8/10
Won and converted the penalty, was involved in most attacking moves, and linked up with Maddison and Johnson expertly. A complete performance
Richarlison: 7/10
Had a few attempts but was fairly quiet before being subbed at half-time. Lacked the sharpness of others. Brilliant IQ play to assist the first one
