Tottenham suffer setback in their hopes to sign ‘complete’ Serie A star

Tottenham are interested in signing Fiorentina loanee Michael Kayode
Many Tottenham Hotspur defenders are facing an uncertain future at the club. The Lilywhites have endured a tough campaign and their defensive fragilities have been exposed frequently by the opposition teams. The clean sheets have become a rarity for the North London club under Ange Postecoglou as well. The errors at the back are one of the many reasons why Tottenham are 17th in the Premier League table.
Spurs are prepared to lose some of their key players in the summer. The Lilywhites are all set to endure a massive squad shuffle. And losing a few players will become the norm once the transfer window opens. It was reported earlier that Pedro Porro is linked with a big-money move in the summer. The Spaniard has endured a ‘stop-start’ campaign under Big Ange and he had also lost his place in the starting eleven at one point.

Another full-back that is preparing for a summer exit is Destiny Udogie. The Italy international has impressed during his time at N17 and has attracted a lot of interest from top clubs. It is possible that the talented defender will head for pastures new once the season ends.
Tottenham set to miss out Fiorentina loanee Michael Kayode
There is no surprise that Tottenham are looking to bolster their defence in the upcoming transfer window. The Lilywhites are aiming to address the issues at the back and believe that signing new players will be a step in the right direction. As per TBR Football, Spurs are interested in signing Michael Kayode from Fiorentina in the summer as Daniel Levy looks to bring in a new full-back.
Kayode is on loan at Brentford currently and has performed brilliantly for the Bees in recent weeks. The Italian full-back joined the GTech Stadium on loan in January, with Brentford having the option of signing the 20-year-old permanently in the summer for £14million. Now, the aforementioned report also suggests that Brentford are set to take up that option and keep the full-back in London beyond this season.

Along with Tottenham, Chelsea is also about to miss out on signing the highly-rated Italian full-back. The Lilywhites will need to shift their focus to someone else as they look to bolster their defence for next season. New reports suggest that Daniel Levy has shifted his focus towards Monaco full-back Vanderson. It is believed that Levy sees him as an ideal replacement of Pedro Porro.
Michael Kayode would have been a perfect fit for Tottenham. The Italian defender is physically strong and he is effective on both ends of the pitch. The 20-year-old is also quick at recovering possession and tends to get involved in ground duels. Kayode would provide a different dynamic to the Spurs side and it is fair to say that he is better than Pedro Porro while defending the goal.

Fans will hope that Levy manages to cash in on underperforming players in the summer and brings in quality replacements. The Lilywhites have the chance of winning the Europa League as well this season. Winning the competition would ensure that the club would receive a huge influx of cash prize (approx. £100m) that they could spend on new signings in the transfer window.
