Injury expert dispels fears of French ace’s condition as Tottenham eye summer move

Injury expert backs Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Lyon star Rayan Cherki
Tottenham Hotspur will play in the Champions League next season after winning the Europa League earlier this week. The Lilywhites ended their long wait for a trophy by beating Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao.
Ange Postecoglou has given immense joy to everyone associated with Spurs, especially the fans, by guiding his team to European glory. Despite winning a trophy, his future remains up in the air and the chances are still high of him getting sacked. And if that happens, the Australian tactician would not be surprised, as per reliable British journalist David Ornstein.
Focus now immediately shifts towards recruitment, with the transfer window set to reopen from June 1. The North Londoners have done well to attract young talents in recent years, and it seems that they are looking to add to the exciting pool of highly-regarded prospects at the club. This is evidenced by their interest in signing Lyon playmaker Rayan Cherki.

Rayan Cherki recently confirmed his departure from Lyon as the summer transfer window commences. The France youth international is available for €22m, thanks to the release clause in his current contract. Rated as one of the best young talents across the continent, he would be the bargain of the summer for any club that manages to land him.
Tottenham are clearly lacking a dynamic, creative midfielder who can consistently drive the team forward and be a constant attacking threat. While James Maddison remains the most gifted playmaker in the squad, his injury issues and inconsistent form have prevented him from being a regular starter under Ange Postecoglou.
Thus, Tottenham often find themselves devoid of ideas and invention in the final when the England international is absent from the pitch or not performing at his best. This is something the club bosses want to address in the summer by bringing in Cherki. And the move has been endorsed by injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar, having evaluated his fitness record and consistency at Lyon this season.
“He was absent from the squad for the first four games of the season but has been fit since then,” Dr Rajpal Brar exclusively told Tottenham News.
“I wouldn’t expect any injury-related issue here in terms of his medical.
“He may take a few weeks to adapt to the Premier League, but all his other parameters are good enough for a move.”

Apart from a metatarsal fracture back during the 2021/22 season, Cherki has a clean injury record and that bodes well for Tottenham. Ange’s squad were hit by an injury crisis this season and the last thing they need is another player with a patched fitness record.

Cherki ticks that box. In addition, he’d bring the X-factor to the Spurs side that they’ve lacked many times to unlock a rigid, well-drilled defence. Creative, strong dribbler and double footed with a touch of flair and arrogance, the Frenchman would lift the quality of the North Londoners’ squad and give them a great boost to compete in the Champions League next season.
All in all, it is high time Daniel Levy accelerates our club’s pursuit in Cherki and fulfils Lyon’s financial demands to sign him.
