Tottenham star vows to ‘celebrate’ Postecoglou in heartfelt goodbye message

Tottenham star Pedro Porro pens heartfelt tribute to Ange Postecoglou after his exit
After weeks of deliberation and speculation, Tottenham Hotspur have decided to sack Ange Postecoglou. They stated that a replacement for the Australian tactician will be announced in due course, as he’ll be needed to plan for the crucial summer transfer window and the upcoming 2025/26 season.
Ange Postecoglou’s time at White Hart Lane came to an end on Friday evening, despite leading the club to their first trophy in 17 years. By winning the Europa League last month, Spurs also qualified for the Champions League and the lure of this elite European competition could help them pull some of the world’s hottest talents to North London this year.
However, Postecoglou has paid the price for a dismal domestic campaign, with Spurs finishing a lowly 17th in the Premier League table. It was the club’s worst-ever season in the top flight, and Daniel Levy felt it was a good time to part ways with the 59-year-old.

Now, Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro has felt an earnest homage to Ange in the wake of his departure from the club. Taking to his official Instagram account, the Spaniard praised the veteran boss for many reasons, including mentoring him and helping him settle down at the club. He also lauded the Greek-Aussie manager for giving Spurs one of the greatest moments of their history.
“Thank you for everything, boss,” wrote Pedro Porro. “For mentoring me early on, helping me settle into the club, and trusting me out on the pitch.
“I’ll always be grateful for the way you led us, defended us, and kept us going through all the highs and lows.
“Above everything, you gave us one of the greatest moments in the club’s history and for that, you’ll always be celebrated.
“Wishing you all the very best, boss.”

Ange had struck a great connection with the players on and off the pitch, and Porro’s words further illustrates that. Under his leadership, Porro has been one of Tottenham’s most consistent performers across two seasons. He has established himself as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League thanks to his ability to influence the game at both ends of the pitch.

Indeed, Ange has improved several players and gave the fans the night in Bilbao to cherish for lifetime. The ex-Celtic boss’ departure was inevitable, but he leaves with his pride intact after living up to his words of delivering a trophy in his second season.
