Tottenham are one of the clubs interested in signing Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho
Tottenham Hotspur burst into life in the summer transfer window last week, signing two players in Kota Takai and Mohammed Kudus. It would likely have been three had Nottingham Forest not complicated the North Londoners’ approach for Morgan Gibbs-White.
Much to the supporters’ excitement, Spurs are still far from done with their summer spending. They have many areas still in need of strengthening, and after Kudus’ acquisition, shifting focus on improving the options on the left would be imperative.
This is because the futures of Son Heung-min and Richarlison have been up in the air for months now. Son’s performance and fitness levels dipped last season, and having entered the final year of his contract, Tottenham are willing to cash him in now rather than risk losing him on a free transfer. As for Richarlison, the forward endured another injury-ravaged campaign, leaving the club chiefs frustrated. He has also been placed on the chopping block amid interest from Galatasaray.

Recent reports suggest Tottenham have been interested in signing Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho. The young winger is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer. He is one of five players who have been left out of the club’s pre-season tour of USA. The Argentina international has been given time to sort out his future with several clubs vying for his signature.
Tottenham given boost in pursuit of Manchester United winger
Now, according to a report from The Telegraph, Alejandro Garnacho has rejected a lucrative offer from Al-Nassr, the Saudi Arabian side led by Cristiano Ronaldo. The 21-year-old is prioritising staying in Europe with the Red Devils giving him the green light to pursue a transfer.
Garnacho was one of the better performers in an otherwise dismal Premier League campaign for Man United. He bagged 11 goals and supplied 10 assists in 58 appearances, as the Mancunian giants finished 15th on the table.
As per reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, the South American’s preference is stay in the Premier League. This should come as a boost for Spurs in their pursuit of the Man United outcast.
Garnacho is a young, dynamic winger who can operate on both flank, and he would add a lot of pace, energy and unpredictability to Tottenham’s attack. The 21-year-old also fits the profile of signings the Lilywhites have been making in recent years. He could be viewed as a long-term replacement for the ageing Son, who is past his prime.
That said, Spurs must try their best to lure Garnacho away from Man United as he’d represent a long-term investment.
