Tottenham Hotspur remain keen to complete the deal for Morgan Gibbs-White
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move to bring Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White to N17 in the ongoing summer transfer window, and Daniel Levy is expected to get the deal over the line, with reports suggesting that it could finally be wrapped up this week.
Nottingham Forest launched legal action over Tottenham over what they claim was an illegal approach by the Lilywhites to secure their asset, but the North Londoners are said to be confident of reaching a resolution with the Trees over a possible transfer, per the latest by GMS.
It is said that the Premier League heavyweights have now targeted this week to bring this transfer for the 25-year-old to a conclusion, as Thomas Frank remains keen to get his hands on one of the English top tier’s most creative midfielders.

The chiefs at Hotspur Way are said to be staying calm about the whole situation despite the legal threat by Forest, who are said to be furious about the fact that the North Londoners triggered what, according to them, was a confidential £60m release clause, and they have taken legal steps to ensure that this transfer is stalled.
But behind the scenes, Spurs haven’t hit the panic button. The belief is that the situation can still be smoothed, with the former Wolves midfielder also keen to sort out the whole situation.
If we look at Morgan Gibbs-White and his performances, he has been instrumental for Forest in the last season, and he would bring a dynamic potential in the midfield at Tottenham. Moreover, if we see his record of seven goals and 10 assists last season for Forest, it shows that his productivity can be compounded; especially if we surrounded him with better quality players, then you’d expect those numbers could go up quickly.
Gibbs-White would elevate Spurs’ final third

There were a lot of times in the last season where Tottenham had this lack of bite in the middle of the park, especially when it came to the creativity from midfield in the final third, and Gibbs-White could be the man to change that. He is someone who is technically gifted and has that creative ability.
MGW has also been praised as an “exciting talent” by Stuart Pearce, and given that he is entering his prime years, he could be more than just another squad signing for Thomas Frank.

Having Champions League at N17 may tip the scales towards Tottenham for Gibbs-White
The 25-year-old knows this is a big moment in his career given that he will get to play Champions League football and then complement that by working under a coach like Thomas Frank, who is known to elevate the game of the players that he coaches.
So while Forest may continue to play hardball, given that Levy is willing to meet the financial demands complemented by the fact that the player is willing to join, it feels like a deal is waiting to happen.
